Welcome to Sasso and the Journey so far.....

Art, Fashion and design have always been part of my life, I have many happy memories of arriving home from work on Friday night and presenting my mother with a yard and half of material, expecting her to make me a dress for 7.30 I had designed my creation using bits of this style and bits of another talking her through my ideas, with a sketch and I really wanted to wear it, that night, she always came up trumps, I had my very own designer collection from about the age of 16.

I learned a lot from my mother's bespoke ladies blouse business which she ran for many years, even helping cover buttons with my younger brother for some extra pocket money `child labour in the 60's`

I have always loved fashion and design, and this led to a successful career as a model, a fantastic time, I loved the work and the people. Being retained as the House Model for a number of Fashion Houses, at one of the fashion houses they had a collection of hat accessories, and I would find myself using my lunch breaks to put together the hat pieces for fun, a black base with a cream brim, adding big silk flowers and ribbon, then feeling thrilled to find buyers liked my designs, and that the hats I made were sold onto the buyers at designer prices, missed out there..

I later opened a Ladies Designer Fashion shop, in Harrogate, and using my contacts I was able to offer small capsule collections particularly from new trendy London designers. I would come up with some of my own ideas and I was able to include these in my unique collections. It was a great time, I loved styling the clients, and made many friends.

Whilst raising my family, altogether a different discipline I turned to art as my creative vent, developing my own water colour style for flowers, well extrovert flowers actually. Painting is and remains a great passion!

As happens, a series of coincidences and chance meetings led me into the Bridal Fashion industry.

Sasso began with just four classic marabou pieces in ivory, I wasn't sure how the Bridal market would like these garments, so we added some accessories, this was back in 2007, arriving at the Harrogate British Bridal Exhibition , over the 3 days we opened 20 accounts with a further 30 shops were interested in my ideas. We soon added colour to the marabou, an antique rose and chocolate adding different feathers, ostrich and coque, two toned feathers, so many variations so exciting, adding a new depth to my beautiful catwalk feather collection. Feathers are simply gorgeous, with new designs, all colours are incorporated within the classic Minnelli shrug and the Streisand stole, through to my beautiful ivory New York feather..

Sasso now has many other collections, including beautiful designer gloves by well established European manufacturers, who are only too pleased to make special designs for the UK, and with Jola and her daughter Anna , we have also introduced a fabulous collection of bridal accessories and hats.

I work alongside some of the best designers in Europe, and we love to be able to showcase beautiful bespoke and designer pieces at the Harrogate Bridal Exhibition, from our large statement pieces, to the simple and elegant

Sasso has it all, I work to inspire, with individualism, and most importantly a keen eye on fashion. I am still keeping my hand in with some rather creative hat pieces, I like to make one offs, and these are always in demand at the show.

My flowers can be put on combs for you, with a small blush veil. Add crystal's WOW, our silk and organza flowers can be made bigger or smaller for you, placed on a band or on a comb, just email and we will do our best to help you to have the accessories you want.
